![]() If you don't have 15 minutes to finish an all zones run I don't know why do you even bother to play video games at all. Saving mid-run would make this game a child's play. So what say you? Will you please try and see fi you can manage programming a save system? Which I suppose where the characters with unreasonable restrictions comes into play, meh. Once you've bought out the shop, what then? And even if you drown the shops in unlockables and upgrades with gems, that wears thin and eventually you get too powerful and it becomes too easy. I suppose the only detraction is you having to program it in? Is that really hard? I mean this game doesn't have much depth in the first place, I think you could spare a bit of effort for a save system.Īlso if we were to make the whole thing only about gems (which there is a LITTLE more to it than that) makes for a game with a short lifespan of playing/low replay value. Say you got to run out the door right then half way through, you could abandon your progress or waste electricity and wear and tear on parts leaving your PC running, perhaps for 8 hours or something. Do you admit this game is modeled after Nethack?Īside from anything else, saving doesn't detract from the game and even a short run can benefit from a save system. Also you really missed the main point of a "rogue-like" game like Nethack, which is to challenge yourself on survival and resource management. Lack of save function = lack of options as to how one can play the game, mods included. In the meantime, though, this is still a very worthy and fun unique game. You also have versions where you are meant to run through all levels and gem unlocks don't matter. You get everything in this version that the original CoTN contains anyway, but you get the prequel content too.īrace yourselves games should correct this problem. If you are going to buy this game (and I really recommend you do!) buy this version, and not the other original CoTN here on the App Store. Instead, there are 2 versions of the same game floating about on the App Store, and both have very hefty price tags. I don’t know why Brace Yourselves didn’t just update the original CoTN or put in an in-app purchase. Not if you’ve paid for the original CoTN on the App Store, it isn’t. It is the full CoTN game, but with more levels, more items, more characters more original music and more monsters. There is a snag with CoTN: Amplified, though. ![]() Every game is different, and there always seems to be something new. The real appeal of the game is the randomness of the encounters. One of my first reviews on the App Store was for Crypt of the NecroDancer, which I still consider to be a must have-game for anyone! It’s a fun, engaging and addictive mash-up of roguelike rpgs & rhythm games in a fast-paced dance-to-the-beat-‘em-up and worth every penny. ![]() Still a 5+ star game, but loses a star because.
